TD Charitable Foundation Nonprofit Employee Training Program
Grants of up to $1,000 will be awarded to eligible community-based organizations so that employees can attend an approved class/course that enhances their job performance. Eligible organizations must be tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, a public school, or other qualified state or local governmental entity and not be classified as a private foundation; have a mission/focus that promotes affordable housing for low- to moderate-income individuals, increased economic (small business) development, financial literacy for low- and moderate-income people, or afterschool or extracurricular programming for low- and moderate-income children; be located within a TD Bank, N.A. market area; and comply with the TD Charitable Foundation’s anti-discrimination policy. Eligible uses of funds include classes and courses that are pertinent to the job performed by the employee, including one-day classes or part of a certification program. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

Writers Omi Translation Lab 2018 Residencies
Translation Lab 2018 is an intensive twelve-day residency for four collaborating writer-translator teams. Through the program, translators will have the opportunity to speak with the writer whose work they are translating about text-specific questions. The lab also will serve as an essential community-builder for English-language translators who are working to increase the amount of international literature available to English-language readers. All text-based projects – fiction, nonfiction, theater, film, poetry, etc. – are eligible. All residencies are fully funded, including airfare and local transport from New York City to the Omi International Arts Center in Ghent, New York, located two and a half hours north of New York City in the historic Hudson River Valley. Translators, writers, editors, and agents are eligible to apply.

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Living Well-Model Approaches for Enhancing the Quality, Effectiveness and Monitoring of Home and Community Based Services for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities
AIDD will fund a consortium to develop and test a model for effectively monitoring quality in community settings that reduces and mitigates the incidence of abuse and neglect and supports empowerment, self-determination, and self-advocacy. The consortium will document their systems change and policy change efforts throughout the project period. A signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the members of the consortium must be submitted as part of the application. Eligible applicants include: Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments); Private, Public and State controlled institutions of higher education; Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized); and Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education. A Little HOPE Youth Bereavement Support Services Grants
A Little HOPE supports organizations that provide bereavement support services and grief counseling to children and teens who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, or loved one. To be considered, applicants must e-mail (no telephone calls, please) the name of their program, website address, names of executive director and program director, and the location of the program. No other information is needed or will be processed. Strong preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate a commitment to the use of community-trained volunteers. American Association of Kidney Patients Jenny Kitsen Patient Safety Award
The award funds a lecture that will advance patient safety by exploring innovation in health systems management. A single grant of up to $5,000 will be awarded to fund the speaker’s travel and accommodation expenses as well as honorarium costs associated with the delivery of the lecture. To be eligible, applicants must be a nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(6) status as defined by the Internal Revenue Code, or a public or government agency.

U.S. Department of Justice OJJDP FY 18 Opioid Affected Youth Initiative
This program will support the Administration’s priority of responding to the opioid epidemic by addressing public safety to children, youth and families impacted by opioid addiction. Category 1: Implementing Data Driven Strategies and Programs Through Strategic Partnerships will support local units of government and/or tribal governments to 1) develop multi-disciplinary working groups; 2) collect and interpret data that will assist the working group in developing strategies and programming that will be used to better coordinate efforts, and 3) implement services that will address public safety concerns, intervention, prevention and diversion services for children, youth and families directly impacted by opioid addiction. Category 2: Opioid Affected Youth Initiative Technical Assistance will fund a provider to assist Category 1 sites with data collection and interpretation, developing performance and outcome measurements, and developing tools that can assist the sites with implementing data-driven services to improve service delivery and coordination in response to the opioid epidemic. U.S. Department of Justice OVC FY 2018 Enhancing Community Responses to the Opioid Crisis: Serving Our Youngest Crime Victims
OVC is seeking applications to support crime victims and to enhance community-driven responses to the current opioid crisis. Under Purpose Area 1, applicants will develop and execute plans to support children and youth directly at the community or jurisdictional level. Applicants are expected to work with an OVC-designated national training and technical assistance provider to further enhance these efforts and contribute to the growing body of knowledge about these issues and underscore successful practices. Under Purpose Area 2, applicants will develop and activate plans to support the Purpose Area 1 applicants on a national scale, to equip and support the community-based programs as they develop new initiatives or enhance existing efforts. OVC will conduct a pre-application webinar on June 6, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. e.t. For both Purpose Area 1 and Purpose Area 2: Applications in either purpose area that involve two or more entities are welcome; however, one eligible entity must be the lead applicant and the others proposed as subrecipients (subgrantees). U.S. Department of Transportation Supplemental Public Sector Training Grants – FY 2018
Applications are sought from national nonprofit fire service organizations for Supplemental Public Sector Training (SPST) grant funds. The foundation of the SPST Grants Program is a “train-the-trainer” model. The intent of the grant is to train hazmat instructors who will then train public-sector hazmat responders. Properly planned and maintained training programs are essential to ensuring that emergency responders who receive training under the grant will have the ability to protect nearby persons, property, and the environment from the effects of accidents or incidents involving the transportation of hazardous material in accordance with existing regulations or National Fire Protection standards. The SPST grant program is open to national nonprofit fire service organizations for the purpose of training instructors to conduct hazardous materials response training programs for individuals with statutory responsibility to respond to hazardous materials accidents and incidents; and to train individuals with responsibility to respond to accidents and incidents involving hazardous material. Award Ceiling: $934,000

U.S. Department of Justice OVC FY 2018 Enhancing Access to Services Program
Many victims of crime, particularly those from limited English proficient, Deaf, and hard-of-hearing communities, may experience barriers that prevent them from accessing critical services. This program will enhance language access and direct services in affected communities and enhance the work of community-based organizations and programs working to help victims report crimes and access services they need to heal in the aftermath of crime victimization. Purpose Area (PA) 1: OVC will make up to 10 awards of up to $200,000 each to organizations for the provision of direct services to victims of crime in affected communities. PA 2: OVC will make one award of up to $600,000 to a technical assistance provider who will identify and address a broad range of TTA and resource development needs to support grantees funded under PA 1 of this solicitation. OVC will conduct a pre-application webinar on June 12, at 3:00 p.m. e.t. Purpose Area 1 – Direct Service Sites: Eligible direct service sites applicants are limited to: public agencies; federally recognized Indian tribal governments; nonprofit organizations; faith- and community-based organizations; and colleges or universities. U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Part A HIV Emergency Relief Grant Program
The purpose of this program is to provide direct financial assistance to an eligible metropolitan area (EMA) or a transitional grant area (TGA) that has been severely affected by the HIV epidemic. Grant funds assist eligible jurisdictions to develop or enhance access to a comprehensive continuum of high quality, community-based care for low-income people living with HIV (PLWH) through the provision of formula, supplemental, and Minority AIDS Initiative (MAI) funds. RWHAP Part A recipients must provide comprehensive primary health care and support services throughout the entire designated geographic service area. The goal is to provide optimal HIV care and treatment for low-income, uninsured, and underserved PLWH to improve their health outcomes. Eligibility for RWHAP Part A grants is based in part on the number of confirmed AIDS cases within a statutorily specified metropolitan area.

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services E-Learning Collaborative for Sexual Violence and Intimate Partner Violence Prevention
The program funds State Domestic Violence Coalitions (SDVCs) to work on IPV prevention activities. Different iterations of DELTA have focused funding on increasing organizational capacity, implementation and evaluation of IPV primary prevention activities. The purpose of this funding announcement is to support a cross-cutting (SV, IPV) peer learning violence prevention platform that uses multiple communication channels, including interactive web conferences, podcasts, interactive listserv, and social media to build and strengthen violence prevention systems and collaborative efforts at the national, state and local levels. The E-Learning Collaborative will facilitate opportunities for dissemination and sharing of guidance and information to help both CDC recipients and national prevention practitioners share, connect, and enhance their skills and capacity to prevent sexual violence and intimate partner violence. Autism Speaks Treatment Research Grants
Applications are sought to conduct innovative studies of novel treatments and interventions for people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) throughout the life span. These may include medical approaches such as pharmacological treatments and complementary and alternative forms of healthcare, as well as behavioral and/or psychosocial interventions. Successful applications will focus on evaluation of the efficacy, effectiveness or other therapeutic benefits of the targeted intervention. They anticipate granting two awards at $250,000/year for up to three years with a maximum of $750,000 per award, inclusive of indirect costs. Letters of Intent are required.

Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation Request for Proposal: Accelerating Drug Discovery for Frontotemporal Degeneration
Grants of up to $150,000 will be awarded to support research investigating the pathologic mechanisms underlying FTD. Priority will be given to lead optimization of novel disease-modifying compounds, including medicinal chemistry refinement and in vitro ADME, as well as the testing of novel lead compounds, biologics, or repurposed drug candidates in relevant animal models for in vivo pharmacokinetics, dose-range finding, target engagement, in vivo efficacy, and/or preliminary rodent tolerability studies. Funding is provided through mission-related investments that require return on investment based on scientific and/or business milestones. To be eligible, applicants must be an academic investigator seeking to create and support innovative translational programs in academic medical centers and universities or biotechnology companies with programs dedicated to neurodegenerative disease translational development. New biotechnology company spinouts or existing biotechnology companies that demonstrate a clear need for nonprofit funding also are eligible to apply. U.S. Department of Justice OVC FY 2018 Enhanced Collaborative Model Task Force to Combat Human Trafficking
OVC and BJA will make awards to support law enforcement and victim service provider efforts within human trafficking task forces under the following purpose areas (PAs). PA 1: Funding is intended to help task forces with critical first steps related to starting up a multidisciplinary task force. PA 2: Eligible applicants are task forces that were funded in FY 15 under PA 1 of the Enhanced Collaborative Model Task Force Program. The FY 18 PA 2 supports continued activities and planning for task force sustainability. PA 3: Eligible applicants are task forces that were funded in FY 15 under PA 2 of the Enhanced Collaborative Model Task Force Program. The FY 18 PA 3 supports funding to expand task force efforts, implement task force sustainability plans, and assist OVC/BJA in building capacity of other task forces. By statute, grants under this program may be awarded to states; units of local government; federally recognized Indian tribal governments (as recognized by the Secretary of the Interior); nonprofit, nongovernmental organizations (including tribal nonprofit and nongovernment organizations); and state and local law enforcement agencies.

Kids Run the Nation Grant Fund
Grants of up to $1,000 will be awarded to running clubs and other nonprofits organizations in support of structured youth running programs that utilize RRCA youth running materials. Program goals must include motivating kids to run regularly (at least once a week for multiple weeks), as opposed to participating in a single event, and the program may culminate in participation at a kids’ race. Funds may be used to purchase marketing materials; host a program website; offset fees for permits or usage fees for a local park or running track; purchase hydration supplies; purchase participation awards (ribbons, shirts, patches, etc); and/or purchase mileage logs or other written materials for the program. Running clubs, events, or other organizations with 501(c)(3) designation are eligible to apply. Elementary and middle schools that provide an organized afterschool running program also are eligible.

Major League Baseball and Major League Baseball Players Association Baseball Tomorrow Fund
BTF awards grants to nonprofit organizations involved in the operation of youth baseball and softball programs and facilities. Funds may be used to finance a new program, expand or improve an existing program, undertake a new collaborative effort, or obtain facilities or equipment necessary for youth baseball or softball programs. Grants are intended to provide funding for incremental programming and facilities for youth baseball and softball programs, not for normal operating expenses or as a substitute for existing funding or fundraising activities. BTF does not specify a maximum grant award; however, the average grant amount is approximately $40,000. Generally, at least 50 percent of the total cost of the project should be committed by other sources of funding; however, the higher the ratio of matching funds, the better chance an application will be successful. To be eligible, applicants must be U.S.-based or international nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations involved in the operation of youth baseball and/or softball programs and facilities. Organizations operating in the U.S. and international locations are eligible to apply.

PeopleForBikes Fall 2018 Community Grant Program
Program supports bicycle infrastructure projects and targeted advocacy initiatives that make it easier and safer for people of all ages and abilities to ride. Grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded to support bicycle infrastructure projects such as bike paths, lanes, trails, and bridges; mountain bike facilities; bike parks and pump tracks; BMX facilities; and end-of-trip facilities such as bike racks, bike parking, and bike storage. Grant requests in which PeopleForBikes funding would amount to 50 percent or more of the project budget will not be considered. To be eligible, applicants must be a nonprofit organization with a focus on bicycling, active transportation, or community development; a city or county agency or department; or a state or federal agency working locally. PeopleForBikes only funds projects in the United States. PeopleForBikes will begin accepting Letters of Intent on June 11.

National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Stipends
Summer Stipends support individuals pursuing advanced research that is of value to humanities scholars, general audiences, or both. Eligible projects usually result in articles, monographs, books, digital materials and publications, archaeological site reports, translations, or editions. Projects must incorporate analysis and not result solely in the collection of data. Summer Stipends support continuous full-time work on a humanities project for a period of two consecutive months. Summer Stipends support projects at any stage of development. NEH funds may support recipients’ compensation, travel, and other costs related to the proposed scholarly research. Summer Stipends are awarded to individual scholars. Organizations are not eligible to apply. The only eligible applicants are individuals. Individuals with tenured or tenure-track appointments at four-year institutions of higher education must be nominated by their institutions to be eligible. Award Ceiling: $6,000

The Fellowship provides funding for students to pursue master’s or doctoral degrees in transportation-related disciplines. The goals of these Grants are to 1) attract the Nation’s brightest minds to the field of transportation, 2) enhance the careers of transportation professionals by encouraging them to seek advanced degrees, and 3) bring and retain top talent in the transportation industry of the U.S. Applicants of the DDETFP Graduate Fellowship must: Possess a baccalaureate degree from, or be a confirmed graduating undergraduate senior at, an accredited IHE within the U.S. or its Territories by the Electronic Application due date; Demonstrate confirmation of acceptance in a graduate degree program at an accredited IHE in the U.S. or its Territories by the Electronic Application due date; Be enrolled in an accredited IHE within the U.S. or its Territories; Be pursuing a graduate degree in a full-time program in a transportation-related discipline; Have at least 1 full academic year remaining in program of study; Conduct ongoing research in one or more transportation-related disciplines; and Plan to enter the transportation profession after completing their higher-level education. The major purposes of the CSP are to expand opportunities for all students, particularly traditionally underserved students, to attend public charter schools (as defined in this notice) and meet challenging State academic standards; provide financial assistance for the planning, program design, and initial implementation of charter schools; increase the number of high-quality charter schools available to students across the U.S.; evaluate the impact of charter schools on student achievement, families, and communities; share best practices between charter schools and other public schools; encourage States to provide facilities support to charter schools; and support efforts to strengthen the charter school authorizing process. The foundation is accepting Letters of Intent from community-based organizations working in the areas of HIV/AIDS care and direct services, education, and research. Grants will be awarded in support of developing or established programs, with emphasis on the direct benefit to clients or the target audience. Requests from anywhere in the U.S. will be considered, with a focus on smaller communities and rural areas. U.S. Department of Homeland Security – FEMA Fiscal Year (FY) 2018 Cooperating Technical Partners (CTP) Program – Region 4
The CTP Program provides federal assistance, through a grant or cooperative agreement, to an eligible Cooperating Technical Partner to perform various projects and activities that stimulate and support the ability of NFIP State Coordinating Agencies and NFIP- participating communities to continue their ongoing regulatory NFIP responsibilities as well as support the ability of States, communities and the public and private sector to mitigate flood risk. Writers Omi Translation Lab 2018 Residencies
Translation Lab 2018 is an intensive twelve-day residency for four collaborating writer-translator teams. Through the program, translators will have the opportunity to speak with the writer whose work they are translating about text-specific questions. The lab also will serve as an essential community-builder for English-language translators who are working to increase the amount of international literature available to English-language readers. All text-based projects – fiction, nonfiction, theater, film, poetry, etc. – are eligible. All residencies are fully funded, including airfare and local transport from New York City to the Omi International Arts Center in Ghent, New York, located two and a half hours north of New York City in the historic Hudson River Valley. The Coral Reef and Natural Resources Initiative provides grant funding for management and protection of coral reefs and combat invasive species in the U.S. insular areas for their long-term economic and social benefit. Proposals that support protection and sustainable use of coral reefs and protection of natural resources from invasive species will be considered for funding. Kids Run the Nation Grant Fund
Grants of up to $1,000 will be awarded to running clubs and other nonprofits organizations in support of structured youth running programs that utilize RRCA youth running materials. Program goals must include motivating kids to run regularly (at least once a week for multiple weeks), as opposed to participating in a single event, and the program may culminate in participation at a kids’ race. Funds may be used to purchase marketing materials; host a program website; offset fees for permits or usage fees for a local park or running track; purchase hydration supplies; purchase participation awards (ribbons, shirts, patches, etc); and/or purchase mileage logs or other written materials for the program. Running clubs, events, or other organizations with 501(c)(3) designation are eligible to apply. Elementary and middle schools that provide an organized afterschool running program also are eligible.

BTF awards grants to nonprofit organizations involved in the operation of youth baseball and softball programs and facilities. Funds may be used to finance a new program, expand or improve an existing program, undertake a new collaborative effort, or obtain facilities or equipment necessary for youth baseball or softball programs. Grants are intended to provide funding for incremental programming and facilities for youth baseball and softball programs, not for normal operating expenses or as a substitute for existing funding or fundraising activities. BTF does not specify a maximum grant award; however, the average grant amount is approximately $40,000. Generally, at least 50 percent of the total cost of the project should be committed by other sources of funding; however, the higher the ratio of matching funds, the better chance an application will be successful. To be eligible, applicants must be U.S.-based or international nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations involved in the operation of youth baseball and/or softball programs and facilities. PeopleForBikes Fall 2018 Community Grant Program
Program supports bicycle infrastructure projects and targeted advocacy initiatives that make it easier and safer for people of all ages and abilities to ride. Grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded to support bicycle infrastructure projects such as bike paths, lanes, trails, and bridges; mountain bike facilities; bike parks and pump tracks; BMX facilities; and end-of-trip facilities such as bike racks, bike parking, and bike storage. Grant requests in which PeopleForBikes funding would amount to 50 percent or more of the project budget will not be considered. To be eligible, applicants must be a nonprofit organization with a focus on bicycling, active transportation, or community development; a city or county agency or department; or a state or federal agency working locally. Histiocytosis Association 2018 Request For Research Proposals
The foundation will award grants of up to $50,000 for studies into the causes, mechanisms, and improved means of treatment for histiocytic disorders. While all areas of research relevant to the histiocytoses will be considered, priority will be given to studies related to mechanisms of disease pathogenesis; biology (maturation, migration, and immune function) of dendritic cells, macrophages, and/or lymphocytes in disease pathogenesis; derangements of cytokine production or function; CNS pathology; neuropsychiatric consequences; studies of rare forms (juvenile xanthogranuloma, Erdheim-Chester disease, Rosai-Dorfman disease); studies of histiocytic disorders in adults; and discovery of new disease markers. American Pain Society Future Leaders in Pain Research Grant
The program was established in 2005 to fund pain research projects of doctoral-prepared investigators who have not yet attained NIH RO1 level funding. The purpose is to encourage research in pain that will add to the existing body of knowledge, and to allow investigators to develop pilot data that will aid them in securing additional major grant funding for continued pain research. APS will award up to two grants of $25,000 each for basic science pain research projects and one grant of $25,000 for a translational science pain research project that demonstrate the greatest merit and potential for success. Possible areas of inquiry include use of analgesic medications, unwanted effects of pain treatment related to analgesic therapy, neuropathic pain, mechanisms of pain, and education and non-pharmacologic interventions or approaches to improve pain management. To be eligible, applicants must be an APS member within six years of completing their doctoral degree; and not yet been awarded major NIH or foundation grant funding (R01 and/or equivalent).
