Meet Maureen Kohler – FANO Certification Faculty Member
Maureen Kohler currently serves as the Executive Director of the Miramar Cultural Trust in Miramar, Florida. In this role she is responsible for the administrative, fundraising and board development activities of the organization. Some notable accomplishments include receiving a grant from the Knight Arts Challenge, securing major media sponsorships, hosting An Evening with Guy Harvey and producing the State of the Arts Address with keynote speaker Andrew Weinstein, a member of President Obama’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities.
Kohler has over 14 years non-profit management experience as she served in a leadership role with Volunteer Broward and as CEO of ArtServe. During her tenure at ArtServe she increased the audited income by 50%, increased membership by 40% and secured a $150,000 grant to create ArtCalendar.com.
She is involved with several local organizations including co-chairing the West Broward Cultural Connection and serving as a board member for both Women & Wishes and Art-turnatives for Building Communities. She is the recipient of the Lexus Art Leader of the month award and the Encore Arts Visionary Award.
Kohler received a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. She lives in Sunrise with her son Jeffrey and their 2 dogs Miley and Apollo.
