Sunshine Certificate in Nonprofit Management

Nonprofits have an opportunity to become certified in nonprofit management by the Florida Association of Nonprofits. Certification gains your organization many advantages, particularly in grantwriting, by proving that you are committed and knowledgeable in the proper management of your nonprofit, and have a vision and a practical plan for the use of funds.  While each class stands alone and offers very valuable information, there is a dynamic synergy in taking the entire course. For example, raising more funds compliments having a specific plan of what to do with those funds.

Florida Nonprofits was the first organization in Florida to offer certification. The certification is offered in partnership with Nova Southeastern University (NSU) and Broward College (BC). The course offers motivating and stimulating classes geared to assist in the professional growth of nonprofit executives, board members, staff, volunteers, and those who have an interest in the well-being and sustainability of the nonprofit sector. The eleven-class series is conducted by experts in the respective topics with a hands-on approach.

Classes are available on a monthly basis where two (or three) classes are held in one day for the convenience of those traveling from out of town.   Florida Nonprofits also offers an intensive series where all 11 classes can be taken in four intensive days during the annual conference.

Through the certification, Florida Nonprofits promotes its mission, capacity building through the development of nonprofit L.E.A.D.E.R.S.H.I.P.! The courses are geared to offer an inspirational and motivational process, and configured to facilitate a hands-on experience.
