Resources

The Florida Association of Nonprofits gathers many resources useful to nonprofits.  One example is the list of Community Foundations.  According to the Council on Foundations, community foundations are grantmaking public charities that are dedicated to improving the lives of people in a defined local geographic area. They bring together the financial resources of individuals, families and businesses to support effective nonprofits in their communities. There are grant opportunities available through these local community foundations.  Click here to go to the Community Foundations page.

Florida Nonprofits also offers numerous publications with valuable information for nonprofits, including Lessons in Leveraging, Principle & Practices and Nonprofit Economic Trends 2019 which reports on the financial impact of nonprofits in the nation, state and local community.

There are many more resources on this website including information and links vital when starting a new nonprofit, found under the Members tab as “Nonprofit Start-Up Information”, a list of grants available in Florida; also under the Members tab, information on classes available through the Florida Association of Nonprofits including How to Start a Nonprofit Organization and the Sunshine Certificate in Nonprofit Management. We also list other state and regional associations, alliances and networks of nonprofits, if you would like to see what other states are doing.
