Tampa Bay Governments Receive Foreclosure Assistance

Governments in the Tampa Bay area recently received a grant from the Federal Government of $100 million to  combat the problems left from vacant foreclosed property.  The grant was part of the $3.9 billion Neighborhood Stabilization Program approved by Congress in July.

The money can be used to acquire property, revitalize properties or for down payments or closing costs.  Guidelines require that 25 % of the money go to families making 50 % or less of the median family income for the area and no money may go to any family making more than 120 % of the median area income.

The local Habitat for Humanity will apply for a portion of the money and use it to refurbish existing homes. It is expected that 10 nonprofit housing orgs will also apply for a portion of the money.    Source: Mark Holan,Tampa Bay Business Journal

FANO Office Supply Savings Program RFP Almost Completed

After a review of RFP’s from several of the top office suppliers in the business, FANO is now finalizing an agreement that promises to save members a considerable amount of money on all office supply purchases, including printer ink and paper products.  Even members who are currently using a communities rate for supplies should see additional savings through this program.  Free shipping and periodic quality control checks will be a regular part of the program.

Members are asked to email the name and email address of the person in their offices that is mainly responsible for supply purchases to Amy Prodan at amy.fano@gmail.com so that accounts and passwords can be set up for the launch.  Once everything is ready to go, we will announce to members that they can begin saving money through this program.  Happy Savings!
