July 2022 News Farewell to Stanley Goodman

Stanley Goodman, active member and volunteer since 2014, died suddenly on June 19. He was 79.

Mr. Goodman was inspired to start a nonprofit after the death of his son, who had many challenges including autism, brain damage, lazy eye, and epilepsy. In his son’s effects, Stanley found discs filled with poetry that his son had been unable to communicate verbally. He published these poems, giving everyone an insight into the feelings of an autistic person that they themselves are unable to share. He used the profits from The Unsung Poet to help others with life challenges like his son.

He will be missed by us all at Florida Nonprofits, the Epilepsy Alliance Florida, and the many people he worked to help. The Unsung Poet is available on Amazon and Goodreads. It is suggested reading for anyone dealing with those with autism or other challenges to communication.
