According to Giving USA, in 2020 foundations and corporate giving equaled $105.43 billion. The competition for these billions is fierce. Here are three tips.
- Read the guidelines. Read them again. Failure to follow the guidelines may disqualify your proposal, making all your hard work moot.
- Proofread the proposal and have at least one or two others do so, preferably someone outside your organization. If the average person can’t understand what you’re talking about, chances are the funder won’t, either.
- Check the math on the budget. The funder will!
