Florida Nonprofits offers sincere condolences to their Board Chair, Maria Hidalgo, on the loss of her uncle and cousin to the Coronavirus.
The father and son were both doctors from generations of doctors in a family with over 20 doctors just within first cousins. Jorge Vallejo was a retired OB-GYN. His son, Carlos, practiced internal medicine and was on the front lines fighting COVID, caring for up to 76 COVID-19 patients. Both doctors were widely respected in the medical community in South Florida. The loss of their skill and compassion is mourned by all who knew them.
