"How to Start a Nonprofit Organization"

Florida Association of Nonprofits hosts the "How to Start a Nonprofit Organization" class on the first Friday of each month, beginning at 10:00 am. However, times and dates are flexible and may be changed to accommodate your schedule. Classes may be taken online or at our headquarters in the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce building at 512 NE Third Avenue, Fort Lauderdale. Bring the information on your start-up organization for discussion. The duration of the class is approximately 1.5 hours. Space is limited to three organizations per session.

The course provides the information needed to know before launching a nonprofit organization. This includes 32 points to consider before becoming a nonprofit, which will clarify specific needs and help to identify the type of nonprofit that best fits each particular mission. Learn what are the requirements when incorporating a nonprofit that will collect charitable donations. Also covered are the IRS and State of Florida filing, which is also applicable for nonprofits that are up and running but need further guidance. The class will also discuss the 11 areas of nonprofit management to master for success.

The cost of the program is $275, which includes a one-year membership. If already a member, the price is $125. for an additional $50, any number of others from your organization may attend the training.
